How much is $1,000,000 and $1,000 from United States currency to Jamaica currency?

First of all, I plan on going to Jamaica one day but I never exchanged currency at the bank before. I want to learn how to do it, but if I go to Montego Bay, Jamaica and get Jamaican money I'm afraid when I get back to the U.S. I might lose a lot of money because I don't understand how the currency in Jamaica works, Plus I'm thinking about living there too.
